THE BRAND CONVERTS THE BEAUTY AND UNIQUENESS OF EACH PLACE INTO ITS EDGY COLLECTIONS, BY INCORPORATING THEIR CRAFTSMANSHIP TECHNIQUES AND AESTHETIC CONCEPT. THE CRYSTALLIZATION OF NOTIONS, ESSENCES AND SHAPES OF EACH GIVEN PLACE, ARE WORKED INTO THE GARMENTS THEMSELVES.
2WO+1NE=2 STRIVES FOR A PERPETUAL BATTLE WITH CONSERVATISM AND CONVENTIONALITY, ENVISAGING CLOTHES NOT AS STRICTLY FUNCTIONAL EVERYDAY ITEMS BUT AS MULTIDIMENSIONAL STRUCTURES, MAINTAINING AT THE SAME TIME FASHION’S ALLURE AND SCRUTINIZING URGE.
PROMISE OF SUSTAINABILITY
At 2WO+1NE=2, we believe in the power and importance of sustainability. To us, sustainability means creating garments that are not only enduring but also have a minimal impact on our planet. It’s about ensuring that our creations last, moving away from the ephemeral trends that dominate the fashion industry. Our mantra, “Trends don’t last, but our garments do!” is a testament to our commitment to durability and timeless design.
OUR SUSTAINABLE PRACTICES
Longevity Through Quality Craftsmanship : We pride ourselves on our commitment to creating long-lasting garments. By employing techniques such as French and Bound seams, we minimize the unraveling of seam edges, significantly extending the life of our garments. This dedication to quality ensures that our pieces withstand the test of time.
Local, Slow Production : All our pieces are produced in-house, at a pace that respects both our workers and the environment. By slowing down, we not only ensure the highest quality of our garments but also significantly reduce our carbon footprint.
Eliminate Fabric Waste : We incorporate design details during the fabric cutting to not waste any part of it. That’s also the reason we use fabric-covered buttons.
Natural Fibers and Dyes : We use natural fibers, processed and dyed in an environmentally friendly manner. This not only reduces our ecological footprint but also ensures that our garments are safe and comfortable for our customers.
High-Quality, Sustainable Materials : Our commitment to sustainability extends to the materials we use. We choose fabrics not just for their luxurious feel and durability, but also for their environmental credentials:
Organic Linen : Our European organic linen epitomizes sustainability and quality. It’s airo sanforised to ensure minimal shrinkage and enhance fabric integrity. This linen, known for its distinct character, is woven in a plain weave, offering a crisp and clean feel that is exceptionally absorbent and cool on the skin—ideal for summer wear. Dyed with reactive dyes compliant with the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), it reflects our commitment to eco-friendly practices and the support of sustainable agriculture in Europe.
Tencel : A leader in eco-friendly fashion, Tencel combines environmental care with textile innovation. Made from wood pulp in a sustainable closed-loop process, it boasts a smaller environmental footprint than traditional materials like cotton and polyester. Produced in Turkey using Lenzing’s biodegradable Tencel yarns, it emphasizes our commitment to minimal environmental impact. Tencel is a lightweight fabric which is breathable, soft, and durable, offering a luxurious feel with less wrinkling and sensitivity for the skin. Its moisture-wicking abilities enhance comfort and versatility, making it ideal for everything from casual summer wear to formal attire.
Organic Wool : Our organic wool fabric is crafted from extra-fine Super S 100 merino wool, making it incredibly soft and fine, with fibers averaging 18.75 micrometers in diameter. This sumptuous material, perfect for high-end clothing like unisex tailoring, is piece dyed and certified by GOTS. Its entire production, from the wool sourcing to the spinning, weaving, and finishing, upholds the highest standards of sustainability and luxury. If you’re comfortable with the fact that wool is an animal product, this could be the most environmentally friendly option. Wool is tough, wrinkle-resistant and resilient (Dress Well Do Good). It holds colorful dyes easily, without use of chemicals. Wool is the most used animal fibre. It is a natural proteine that has much in common with human hair and was already used for textiles from the 5th millennium BC. Wool is renewable, water repellent, flame resistant, odour resistant, breathable, easy to wear and easy to maintain. In many ways wool is a very sustainable fibre. Not only it is 100% biodegradable but because of its high elasticity it doesn’t need to be ironed or only on low temperatures. In addition wool is a fibre that regenerates itself by airing and doesn’t have to be washed very often. Wool is a ‘breathing’ fiber that will never give you the feeling of being locked up. It has good isolating properties, and is very performing when it comes to regulating the body temperature. Wool can absorb up to one third of its own weight of moisture before it starts to feel damp. By absorbing moisture, wool reduces the amount of sweat on the body, thus also reducing the possibility of body odours. People are not allergic to wool but it is true that wool, due to its structure, may itch. This depends on the fineness of the fiber. Wool comes from several countries: South Africa, South America, Australia, and European countries. It is usually spun, woven dyed and finished in Europe. Please note that the big wool producing countries all have a set of animal welfare laws which wool growers are bound to uphold. Wool is a natural fiber and 100% biodegradable, can be washed less frequently and on lower temperatures thus saving energy and water. In addition wool garments often have longer lifespans, wool doesn’t contribute to microplastic pollution of the air and surface water.
Organic Cotton : This sanforized cotton fabric from the Aegean region is 100% organic and GOTS certified, dyed with eco-friendly dyes. Its fine weave and high yarn count (Ne 30/1) result in a fabric that’s both strong and soft, with minimal shrinkage. Ideal for a variety of applications, from shirting to bedding, this fabric exemplifies our commitment to combining durability, comfort, and environmental responsibility.
Water-Repellent Organic Cotton : Our water-repellent organic cotton canvas combines functionality with sustainability. Made with 100% Aegean GOTS certified ring-spun yarns and finished in Turkey, this fabric features a prime quality Ruco-Dry Eco Plus finish for water repellency, avoiding the environmental risks associated with traditional fluorine polymers. Strong and resistant to sunlight, it’s ideal for eco-friendly outdoor wear and accessories, demonstrating our dedication to innovation and eco-friendly solutions.
Recycled Polyamide for Swimwear : Our swimwear fabric comprises 78% recycled polyamide and 22% Elastane Lycra® Xtra Life™. The lining is crafted from 90% polyamide and 10% Elastane Lycra® Xtra Life™. All materials are certified by OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 for tested textiles.
Why These Fabrics Matter :
